Faults & Mistakes

When we visited our house construction site, apart from the energetic excitement of the progress, we will also check to make sure that the building is as per the plan (to the best of our knowledge) and as to what we expected.

As careful as we could be, there were some minor mistakes and faults (some unforeseen by us) to be corrected. It is a good thing that we picked up the problem and fix it now rather than later.

Here are some faults which we have encountered, and thankful that it was easily rectified.

Pet door for the dogs at the laundry glass door. It is located at the washing machine side which will block the pet door from opening. Fix is to interchange the glass panels to the sliding door side.

Recessed picture wall niche at the master suite entrance was originally drawn in the plan as one whole recessed wall to the floor. Our fault as we did not notice it drawn as such. Fixed with drylining wall.

Same fault as with the main entrance recessed wall. Fixed by using drylining wall.

This whole wall should be drylined to match the contour of the kitchen bulk head. Builder's fault. They will remove grey float on the wall and fix drylining wall.

We discovered that there were 3 power points which have disappeared after the grey float was applied to the walls. They were covered up and the workers corrected the issue by removing the grey float to expose the wires again.
